Basket Willow Cuttings

5 cuttings of Salix Viminalis or Basket Willow 

place cuttings in water near a sunny window. once they grow roots, transfer to a pot with soil. keep soil moist.  once danger of frost has passed plant them in a well watered area of the garden. Chop them down to 6-12 inches each fall and harvest the sticks for projects. They will go from green to deep brown when completely dry.  once dry, you will need to soak them in water before weaving, so they remain pliable and dont snap.  Happy gardening!!
